July 4th Dry Run 2022

It’s now officially summer. Happy Solstice!

That means we are half way until the next SpielMas festival!

In 2021, I used the traditional July 4th holiday in the United States as another opportunity to try to connect with friends by playing a game.

To prepare for the six-day festival in December, let’s try again on the four days from Friday, July 1, 2022 and ending on Monday, July 4, 2022.

For this second annual dry run, I expect to hear so many more stories of people playing a game with friends in the same physical space.

But in the event you can’t, there are still plenty of examples we followed last December where friends and family gathered online to share the experience of playing a tabletop game.

Here’s a display you can print for use in your home (learn more about SpielMas displays). As we did last winter, fill it with game pieces, meeples, or whatever you like to signify you have played a tabletop game that day or evening. And post your pictures using #SpielMas so I can share them on social!
